For the fun of building something outside of her usual theme and aesthetic, Nimzy built the Circus of Nightmares for Pandemonium of Fear, a group that does live, virtual haunts every October in VRChat. This project started with building custom environments to immerse guests in a haunt experience that accommodated live actors for added thrills.
The project eventually expanded to include complex, interactive elements that Nimzy designed using VRChat's node-based coding system. These elements provided fun interactions for guests (such as proximity-based teleportation and audio triggers, jump scares, and avatar resizing for fear-inducing immersion), and a higher level of moderation and function for the cast and crew.

Pandemonium of Fear & optimized/ incorporated into the project by Nimzy.
A creepy circus environment with three tents and multiple circus wagons. This space is the dedicated entrance to the world.
During Pandemonium of Fear Haunts, actors play the parts of terrified, caged victims and twisted clowns that haunt guests as they explore this area.
___
There are three tents in the main circus.
One is a murder scene that hints at the coming Cherry Blossom portion of the Circus of Nightmares universe.
The other is a tent that shows the Dollhouse from an observer's perspective.
The third teleports the player without warning, literally dropping them into the horrors of Depths of the Mind, beginning their desperate journey to escape a waking nightmare.
A nightmarish hellscape that is the Depths of the Mind, literally dropping guests into the terrifying depths of a serial killer's mind.
Blue, flashing synapse in a dark, murky landscape create a storm of horror that the guest must find their way through.
Guests must also avoid lurking monsters (actors) and try to calm their hearts after triggering jump scares and encountering strange, horrible creatures that circle the thoughts of a serial killer.
___
This was the first environment Nimzy designed for Pandemonium of Fear, striving to harness the terrible, internal thoughts and emotions humans experience, then amplifying them to create a horror experience.
A Dollhouse belonging to a demented, jealous child who traps wandering souls as playthings for her own personal amusement.
___
Guests first see the Dollhouse from the outside. Within the Dollhouse they may notice small souls (the tiny avatars of other guests) trying to escape.
Try as they might, observers are helpless to get the souls out, or to enter the Dollhouse themselves. For now.
Later, after guests are dropped into a waking nightmare that they must escape, they are eventually teleported into the Dollhouse as a trapped soul.
They may see observers on the outside, but not matter how loud they cry out, no help is coming.
A hidden trigger that staff use to gain a higher level of access.
For example, staff gain a ramp/ lowered colliders for the caged wagons, allowing them access that guests don't have.
The actors in the Dollhouse gain access to hidden spaces behind walls, giving them the opportunity to phase through walls and out-thwart guests in the chase through the house.
___
A staff teleportation system becomes visible when the hidden trigger is used.
Instead of having to follow the linear path the guests are forced to use, staff can quickly teleport from area to area, getting ahead of guests and hunting down trouble makers.
